Following on from my previous post about additional URL shorteners, tr.im now have provided twitterfeed with an API key so it should be able to get past any API limits they have in place. As a result, tr.im is now available as a URL shortening option when you create or edit a feed in twitterfeed.
One note: tr.im have asked that I only use tr.im for users which provide their username/password so the URLs are attached to their account. If you select tr.im as the shortener without providing this information when you set up a feed, twitterfeed will use an alternative URL shortener. If you do provide the tr.im user infomation (and there’s no reason why you wouldn’t, since that gives you access to all their tools), then twitterfeed will use this information when creating the tr.im short URL, and you’ll be able to track/view these URLs in your tr.im account.

I added my tr.im registration info into twitterfeed and it started shortening URLs fine and posted to twitter fine, but the URLs don’t show up in my tr.im control panel.

Christopher, could you check and make sure the username/password you entered in the twitterfeed feed settings is correct? In a test account of mine the shortened URLs appear in my tr.im account without any problems, so an incorrect username/password provided in the settings seems the most likely cause of this.

Hi, twitter feed has been working fine with tr.im up until today. The latest tweet didn’t include the URL for some reason:
https://twitter.com/flybywire2/status/1118970721
This is the URL which should have been trimmed:

Thanks

Yes, there’s currently an API issue with tr.im – see update here: http://getsatisfaction.com/twitterfeed/topics/link_left_out_of_the_latest_tweets#reply_748226

Hello, I can’t understand how to add your blog ( http://www.twittes.com ) in my rss reader

When you authenticate to tr.im from the twitterfeed setup, do you *have* to use a “tr.im” account login? There is also an option on tr.im to login with your twitter account, so that’s the reason I ask. I have entered my twitter account into the tr.im username/password fields in the twitterfeed setup, but the links are not showing up in my tr.im account. Hope this makes sense. Thanks.

Michael – as far as I know, you need to prove the tr.im username/password information in your twitterfeed feed settings, so they can be included in the API call which shortens the URL. I believe the tr.im user info is the only one supported through the API.
