feed your blog to twitter

Welcome Yahoo! users

February 8, 2008 · 6 Comments

Since twitterfeed.com supports the new OpenID 2.0 standard, Yahoo! users can now log into twitterfeed.com with their existing Yahoo! ID. All you need to do is to enable your account for OpenID at http://openid.yahoo.com. Once that’s done, you can just enter “yahoo.com” into any OpenID 2.0 enabled site, and you’re logged in.

To make it even easier, the twitterfeed login page evenĀ  has a button that logs you straight in with your OpenID-enabled Yahoo username.

OpenID is becoming THE standard for secure login, and it’s good to see Yahoo bringing its benefits to the non-geek world.

I converted my Y! account to OpenID last night and am stocked to use it directly (instead of via IDProxy) for Twitterfeed. Is there an easy way to convert my existing account over to the new one created by logging in via Yahoo! OpenID?

I was thinking of implementing something like this, but am a little worried about doing it the easy/quick way, because of the possible complications if someone changes their OpenID and mistypes something, which would then leave them stranded, not being able to log in at all anymore.

It would need to be a little more complex to first verify that the new OpenID URL is actually working, and only change it after this verification. Which should be possible, I’m just not sure how quickly I’ll get around to implement it..

In the meantime, could you just DM me on twitter with the old/new OpenID URLs, and I’ll switch it across manually.

I just logged into Twitter Feed for the first time today. Its the first site I’ve used my Yahoo ID to login with - I had to go and do some research on OpenID as I wasn’t too sure of the security it provided.
Thanks for using OpenID as its reduced my ignorance in this matter - am away to work out how to use openID on all my sites.

We are developing a service to openid enabled sites. It’s called Openvatar. Like Gravatar (email) it’s provides avatars for openid users in openid enabled sites.

    Greetings.

Thank you for allowing the use of OpenID on your site! I wish more sites would do the same!
