feed your blog to twitter

validating your twitterfeed

May 14, 2007 · 4 Comments

When adding a feed to twitterfeed, we now let you validate the feed URL as part of the creation process – just click on “test rss feed” next to the feed URL input box. This should help you find any potential problems we may be encountering with your feed.

Typical issues we found (apart from spelling mistakes of course) are …

  • providing your main blog URL instead of your feed URL
  • feeds that aren’t valid according to spec(s)
  • feeds that don’t contain valid dates on the indivual items
  • We hope this new feature lets you pinpoint any problems related to feed parsing straight away.

It publishes the last item acoording with the date, and it does not publishes the rest if the date is not bigger. Example, If you use an RSS of events, with events for the next month it shows the last one

Hi – thanks for a great service.

I’ve just set up my first feed, and I’m waiting the 30 mins to see if it worked. I found this post talking about a feed validation link, but I don’t see it on the current version.

Is the normal test cycle to set up a feed, then wait 30 mins to see if it worked?

      Thanks!
      Declan

I do not understand how this works! I have in my blog site seven blogs. Do I but each blog URL into twitterfeed or the URL of my control panel page at Blogger? This all is so confusing.
